Meet The Candidate

Wesley I. Reid is the son of the parsonage, born in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Presiding Elder Robert H. Reid, and Mrs. Alpha O. Reid.

He was nurtured in the A.M.E. Church as his father labored in assignments throughout Kentycky and Tennessee.  His higher education was obtained in two of the A.M.E. schools, Wilberforce, University in Wilberforce, Ohio and Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.  He has completed Post Graduate Studies at Vanderbilt School of Theology, United Theological Seminary and Ashland Theological Seminary.

Wesley I. Reid is married to the former Kathleen M. Starling, of Cleveland, Ohio, who is also a Wilberforce University graduate.  She is a newly retired elememtary school Principal, an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorrority, Inc., the former North Ohio Conference Branch President of the Women's Miissionary Society, and presenly the 3rd District President of the Women's Missionary Society. 

The candidate is the proud father of Kevin D. Reid (deceased), and Reverend Tameaka R. Freed (Patrick), the grandfather of two; Reiley(5) and Joshua (2).  He is also a part of Those Preaching Reid's which consists of his brothers and nephews; Dr. Robert H. Reid Jr., Retired Editor of the Christian Recorder; Rev. Walter W. Reid Sr. (deceased); Rev. Walter W. Reid Jr., Pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church, Memphis, Tennessee; and Rev. Rodrick K. Reid, Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Noblesville, Indianna.
